King of Dance

Introducing a more painterly style for Alex and Cruz. I love to paint so it seemed natural to use that skill with the comic. Let us know what you think. If you been following the comic, you know how terrible Cruz’s dancing skill can be.

I returned to drawing the comic by hand. I was never happy with the 3d models as I kitbashed them together like some Frankenstein monstrosity to make them work. I plan on creating the 3d models from scratch. I will keep you updated with blog posts on the progress. Don’t expect to see finished models until the end of the year.

Like I mentioned we made out 1500 follower goal. Thank you everyone . When we made it to 1500 we where going to start the story segments.

When we get to 3500 followers, we plan to make an animated short every month.

Also be prepared to see slight adjustments in the character design. You input is valuable to us. Let us know what you think. We would love to hear from you.

This month I will be posting the concept art for our story segments for you to check out.

How to train your dragon’s dragon.

It’s a little awkward for a funny animal comic to have a anthro character has a pet of the same species as itself. It’s mostly played for laughs to point the illogical aspects of humanoid animals.

Who nose the troubles I’ve seen.

Apologies in advanced to Napoleon Bonaparte and Napoleon Dynamite.  Fun fact: Napoleon Bonaparte was 5’7″ tall. So much for historical accuracy.

Have you ever noticed that in some comics, the artist will never show the characters below the waist.  This is probability why.  About centaurs, they look so awkward, I must admit.  I’ve always wondered why there is a ‘taur’ in centaur because a traditional centaur is half horse, half man. Not half bull, half man.

The Joy of Nature

Recently I have been messing around with two popular tools used for machinma. SFM and GMOD.  SFM reminds me a little of Adobe after effects. Posing characters is awkward because you have to hold on to control to move the joints. It could be a very useful tool for animation because it has both live movement tools and lip sync. Getting you own characters into the engine is another story. It’s very complicated.

And then there is GMOD. I am addicted to it at the moment. While I had a blast playing around int the sandbox and doing stupid things, posing a ragdoll with the gravity gun is one of the most frustrating things ever. I found a plug in that makes posing easier. similar to how you would move joints in a 3d modeling program. GMod is fine if you want to make silly, choppy, and YTP animations. SFM is the tool I will use if I can get my models in to the freaking program.

True story.. minus the fainting part.. – Alex

For the last couple weeks I have been playing Destiny with Cruz and a dear friend that moved away a few months earlier.  I feel torn about the game, it’s a blast with friends but it’s mind numbly boring when your alone. And it has one of the most disappointing final boss fights I’ve ever experienced. Not to mention that the ending was shallow, like bungie just gave up halfway though production and said ” lets just package it as-is.” It also suffers form Halo-itis. 343 Guilty Spark = Ghost. The Covenant = The Fallen. The Flood = The Hive, etc. The game play itself is like Borderlands and Halo had a baby, which IMO is completely fine. I love the art design and the open world environments. It’s just a shame that the game is so repetitive. I can’t stop play it though, which is oddly ironic.
