I miss the Barnes and Noble in my small town that was closed due to ‘lack of interest’. Although I commonly read books on my iPad, its just not the same as having a physical copy in your hands. It feels strangely ‘fake’ using tablets and book readers . Like I’m not really reading. My friend Cruz dislikes me using the ‘B’ word in his presence, the word ‘book’. This is a mixed media digital painting that combines 2d painting with 3d modeling. The models themselves are a WIP and might look totally different by the time I finish them. The main focus of this test was to experiment with different texture patterns. The model currently have no texture maps on them. It’s fun to combine both of my passions together like this.
Our new direction is to have Alex and Cruz and everybody else as ‘normal’ animals. But they would still be living in a urban environment and trying to ‘act’ like humans.

Hello everyone. We are starting to get a routine down. For now the best time to upload new comics is on Sunday. Eventually this will become a two comic, but for now one comic a week will be the norm.
Speaking of zoo’s I go there often to doodle animals. Unlike my partner in crime, I do not eat the animals while I’m there.
Note to self: Change ‘must of’ to ‘must have’. this is not a redneck comic.
Just for fun, I imported my models into Daz Studio, and then combined the sub-dragon and the genesis figure into this dragon.. centaur.. thing.. But do not fret, the giant omelet will be worth it in the end. 🙂 I also used this image as a example for a book review.
Lets see, I used Carrara,Hexagon,Daz Studio, and Photoshop to make this (phew).

Rule one of having a dragon for a roommate. Don’t upset the dragon. As for non comic related chat, I’ve been playing Super Hexagon. The hexagonist level is driving me crazy. I’m also going to write a review for Spelunky soon, a rogue platformer I actually like.
Another fantastic restart… yay. This was a test using the 3d models I spent ages making. I now have a friend that has joined the madness of the comic. Alex was originally a dragon but I changed him to a iguana when I decided to ditch the 3d. But I spent so much time on the dragon model and everything else, I couldn’t bear to waste all my effort. So he is a dragon.. again.
